Founded more than 2 decades ago by Prabha Gopal, BAPA has presented some of the finest South and North Indian classical music masters. BAPA has been privileged to present performances by Ustad Bismillah Khan, Ustad Allah Rakha, Kishen Maharaj, Pandit Jasraj, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Sultan Khan, Vikku Vinayakram, Shankar, Shujaat Husain Khan, the late Protima Bedi, Maulik Shah, Vijay Shankar and many more. BAPA has been the proud tour sponsor of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Ustad Zakir Hussain in the years 2001, 2003, and 2005.

Music and dance are Prabha's passions. She learned Indian Classical Dance and Music as a child in India and has kept up the tradition She has helped raise money for several charities in the Bay Area. She is one of the "ambassadors" at the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, and is also involved as a volunteer for the new Walnut Creek Library, scheduled to open in 2010. She arranged a beautiful "Evening of Tradition" for the library "One City One Book" event in 2007. She has co-hosted the program "Bay Area Back Roads" on Channel 4 with the famous host Mr. Doug McConnell. She truly believes in her comment on that program: "the Bay Area is not a melting pot but a beautiful tapestry, sewn with several different cultures, bursting with vibrant colors!"
"I am trying my best to get involved with the local causes as well as share my cultures with my dear non-Indian and Indian friends."

Thanks for all the support and encouragement.
